Bye bye Oly 12-100 F4 Pro
I’m sure it’s quite a good lens. In all honesty, I haven’t shot enough with it to pass final judgement. I’m not sure whether it’s the f4 factor, or being limited to the 100mm range. But this much is true— I’ve really gotten used to having brighter lenses with shallower depth of field, and being able to secure more distant shots with the combo I normally use. These are the by now tried and true 12-40 and 40-150mm f2.4 Pro lenses, bolstered further by the TC-1.4. I suppose if I were more of a sightseeing traveler, the 12-100 would be just about ideal, so as to be able to carry one lens. A lens that is waterproof, takes super crisp photos, and can cover a reasonable range. (unfinished blog entry)
